OK I am looking to do some MINOR engine upgrades. This is the setup I was thinking...

Stage 1 Hotcam, Rev box, and the thinner DRZ base gasket to up the compression with a stock bore. I am not sure if I want to do both cams or just one of them. I hear when you do both you lose a lot of bottom end grunt? Oh yeah and some DRZ valve srings. Any thoughts about this setup? Let me know!!!

 

Put both cams in. I wasn't sure if I wanted to put just intake or both in at first, but I ended up putting both in and have no regrets. I didn't feel any loss of bottom end when I did mine. The DRZ base gasket will help your bottom end out. You will need to buy a full exhaust to get the most out of the cams. A aftermarket carb makes a big difference also. Anyway let us know what you end up doing.

Nice, let me know how much it helps you out. I have been looking at aluminum air boxes but never wanted to fork out the $$$ for one. If they are a big improvement I might try one.

 

Sorry if this is alittle off topice, I did'nt want to start a hole new thread. What would happen if you use a 12.2 to 1 piston and a DRZ base gasket? Is that all that is required for the DRZ base gasket mod just buy the gasket and install, nothing else?

I'd get both cams.

Anyone price hotcams lately? Where is the best place to get them? I might make a post on it to get more attention. I found em at rockymountain but that is about it. Anything? Anyone?

 

What about any other cams for the z400? Anyone? Are there any other cams out there that can compare to the hotcams?
