Default King Quad Questions

I'm currently considering getting a new ATV and I am leaning toward the KQ. Right now I'm riding a Rubicon that has been trouble free for 4 years. However I would like to get something with some of the newer features and the KQ seems to have them. I'm a little curious about the locking front end and the use of the override button, is that something that seems awkward or do you just get use to it. Also maybe you could just me some general opinions about the KQ. Thanks.

Your right about the options. Their great. The locking differentials work without hesistation. The override button is not cumbersome at all. The KING really does well without it. I have only used it twice, once while pulling a 15' log in some loose dirt and while towing my brother in law's 9N Ford tractor from a muddy field to the barn.

I can't compare it to others since this is my first quad. I researched for 3 years before I bought mine. I did get to ride my neighbors Kawasaki 650 V-Twin 4x4. At the time I thought his was the best.

Once you ride the KING it's hard to buy something else. It also has a very different sound! That large single cylinder is very impressive.
I think they should have named it "KING THUMPER"!

If you want speed get a sport quad. If you want the utility King. Buy the KING THUMPER!

Hello, sounds like we were in the same boat, lol! I also own a 2003 rubicon, it's been a great machine with no problems but it was time to upgrade to something better. I still have the rubicon and went out and bought a king quad, i like the rubi but all i can say is what a night and day difference between the two! The king quads ride, power, performance are second to none! I have yet to use the override button and the machine has been unstoppable. I am a diehard honda fan but they are falling way behind in the utility quad department, so i felt the king was the next best choice, and what a choice it was! Truely an awesome machine, you won't be dissapointed! And if your into speed once in a while, she'll hit 70 no prob.

I had a 2003 Honda Rincon, and traded up to the KQ, so for I havn't been dissapointed.Much stronger than The Rincon, low gear....just all around better build quality....The fuel injection is awesome...especially on cold mornings...Every Honda I ever owned was hard to start, generators etc.etc.....Honda makes some good equipment, but I don't think the Rincon has been the machine that compares with the King Quad...Honda is capable of building a better machine, but just like the brakes on the Rincon, your paying for stuff you don't get!..

Text Thats still better than having to buy after market disk brakes at several hundred dollars..plus the install...I also had to replace astick-stob torn boot on the Rincon! You just get more for your money..A new Rincon will cost you 7400.00 are more plus they ask you to buy the extended warranty.....On another site a guy has already spent 2000.00 bucks on his tranny, and no fix!! The problems seem to be mounting on the Rincon.....I had one of the old Formans, and no problems...

The reson honda is behide is cause they had all thier designer working on their new Ridge line trucks and change a few thing on their cars. they will be back in the race soon. Also yamaha I hear has lots of hype and is said to come out with a 800 which I doubt if they made the grizzly and put it in a sport frame and called it a raptor then by all means the 700 raptor will be put in a ute frame and call the new grizzly, why else would they give a sport efi ? and other feature you would only see in a ute. I rest my case

oh yea almost forgot go with the king quad you won't regret it also check out the brute and 800 popo and 800 bomb keep your opition open who know maybe you might like another, go to the dealer and check those babys out. I personal think you can't go wrong with any thing over 650 has really changed in the past 2 years.

KrazeMudder, the designers (engineers) at Honda on the autos are NOT the same for the ATV's.

Thanks for the replies, I'm going looking tomorrow however it seems most of the dealers no longer have 2005 models and I am hearing 2-3 months on the 2006 models arriving.
