My thought exactly, now if I owned lots of rides and wanted to play around with something, which in the past ive been known to do , then maybe. but why buy a Z250 as an only bike, if it is, if your going to spend tons of dough to make it fast. Heck ya couldve bought a used z400 and put that $ into it and been really nice off.
paintballbanshee, i dont think it would beat a stock warrior, but it might be closer than some might think, well on take off anyway / short distance. never seen the too run each other to be honest.
My nephew has some serious problem with telling the truth, and keeps telling everyone his z400 will run about 90, and smokes 450's all the time, and hes stock. crazy kids!

I can assure you my bike can/will/has outran stock warriors. No my bike does not do 90. it has done 58mph in 5th on the rev limiter according to my garmin gps, that was with 20" tires...now i have 22" razors....dunno what it'll do, but prolly more than 60. if anyone one here lives near baton rouge and has a stock warrior and would like to see if i'm blowin smoke....come on. Now to the question why spend all that monet on a z250.
1) if you want to buy me a z400, ill take it.
2) i paid $3200 and have about another, hmm lets add...
cam and springs-200
header- 40
airfilter- 25
yoshi- 75
carb- 0
manual clutch 260
lowered 0
piston 81
ported head 0
air box 0
labor 0
outrunning a bigger cc bike- priceless
so what does this add up to?
$641 in go fast goodies+3200+$3841 total which is about what you would pay for a z250 getting no deal.
3) this is my first atv so i am learning how to work on them, so if i blow up a $3200 bike experimenting, it won't hurt my wallet as much as a $5200 z400
4) I do plan on getting a bigger bike soon as I had no idea that atv riding is more fun than street racing my 10sec camaro. anymore questions????.....just think what i can do with a 450r.....

Question originally posted was "im j/w if a z250 witha airfilter, pipe, and jet will beat a stock warrior, thanks" answer is as I stated(in other words no). My nephew has an 04 Z400 he wants to sell for $3000 and its in awesome shape/condition. Ive thought seriously about getting it. Anyway, outrunning a bigger bike than what you own is always fun, but my point is, you could spend the same $ and get a faster quad stock. To get that z250 to out run any seriuos contenders your going to have to spend some serious $ or know alot and spend lots of time getting it there.

Well what I do have working for me is my knowledge and I know alot of people that don't mind doing favors for me. For example, the other night when I put my piston in, I have a friend that has a machine shop at his house and I brought the cylinder to him and he charged me nothing. Its because he knows when the transmission goes out in his truck, I'll rebuild it. Anyway, I have fun with a challenge. I have a clean 92 RS camaro that started life running 17.20 in the quarter mile. I have transformed it into a 10 sec daily driver that looks stock except for a set of 17" alloy wheels. It has ran a 10.78 on slicks and it runs 11.40 all day long on radial tires. No nitrous. Still has A/c, power, and leather interior, knocks down 18.5 mpg. Now I'm taking a 250cc bike that started life out as a smushy turd and making it haul. I have a long list of bikes that I have outran that I shouldn't have. And by the way, your mojave does not stand a chance. There is plenty of little details that i have done to this bike but left out of my list. Also, where is your nephew located that has a z400 for 3000? If its not to far from here, I'll buy it.

Nephew is in SW Louisiana, stationed at Ft Polk, hes in army. He wants to get the new 450, or a 4x4 so he can ride with me and my buddies. He has been in Iraq for the last year, just got back recently, so the 400 has a year of no use. I would start it up for him from time to time when i was "back" home as im in army too in San Anonio, the quad was located in newton TX about 5.5 hours from me, and i go there about once a month. thats where i keep my quads, and only get to ride about once a month nowadays, unless i bring them out to san antone. then there isnt much area to ride out here like at "home" so i just leave them there at my brothers place.

LTZGUY,
If your Z-250 is really that fast, why don't you do some real racing with it. Around here they have several Drag racing events at different clubs and raceways.
Instead of racing down a dirt road or across someones back yard, take it to an official drag track for quads. At least they give trophies to the winners.
Quite frankly, I think you are full of it. Your quad may be fast, but you add a little fertilizer to your stories, if you know what I mean.
You call on everyone to come to your back yard, knowing full and well no one will travel several states to race you.
Why don't you come to this drag strip and prove what you say is true?
