The new LTR450 is going to be as fast of a stock quad as you or anyone will ever need. A Z400 or Quadzilla are by no means "slow", so I don't know where you're coming from.

It's 2005 & Suzuki hasn't made anything that trumps the LT500r. 20 long years & still that bike has the record for the most powerful & fastest quad built from Suzuki. Grow some ***** for the atvs. You never hear of any compliants for more speed or power in the Sportbike & Dirtbike world... People are getting tired of dumping thousands upon thousands into their quads to go faster... I for one will never buy another so called; High-performance quad!!!!!

When idiots stop hurting themselves and filing lawsuits against the manufacturers, then MAYBE you'll see crazy-fast machines right off the showroom.

the 500 was fast in a straight line and at flat tracks racing.the new 450 is going to have the power and suspenion to go faster on anything that the 500 ever had.plus the 500 is heavy compare with todays race quads and the new 450.

Blackbird, I've read you posts for some time now on the new 450 and I've been impressed with how accurate most of your info was now that the magazines have leaked some info. But I have a hard time buying your opinion on the 450 power/weight compared to the 500. Until I can ride one or race against one myself with my stock 500, I'm not going to believe that. The 500 wasn't all that heavy. It weight 392 lbs which is extremely light for it's dimensions. No doubt, the 450 will be lighter given the amount of aluminum they're using, but the actual power plant won't have the power potential of the 500. Even with today's technology, a 4 stroke can't compete with a 2 stroke of the same displacement, much less one that's 50cc's larger.

This of course is my opinion. It does sound like the new 450 will be much more uncorked from the factory while the big LT was extremely detuned from Suzuki. This will no doubt help out it's stock performance numbers. I really am looking forward to its release more than any quad of recent memory. I fully expect it to be the king of the MX world in near stock form, but I'm not going to expect 50 plus horsepower right out of the box with the potential to add many more ponies cheaply like the zilla.

JTY2K, I agree with your statement about Suzuki not building a bike that trumps the LT500 20 years later, but I see irony in your statement because no other company has either.

in a straight line the 500 is going to win over the 450.but the power and susupension on a track the 450 going to leave the 500.you can only go as fast as your susupenion will let you .
