I'd go for the savings and the '05 model - AS LONG AS IT HAS THE HIGHER SERIAL NUMBER!!!!! That way you get not only the new reverse bearing fix but you also get the additional 5 year warrantee against reverse gear failure. It's my understanding that the '06 models and the later model '05's only differ by some of the color choices.

I bought an '05 because I didn't like the '06 colors and black rims.

I'd go with an '05 also. The prices are just too good to pass up. Just be sure the last 8 digits if the VIN# are above 52115956 to be sure you get the reverse fix.

my understanding though (from an earlier post) is that on the '05's with the serial # above 52115956 are fixed correctly from Suzuki before they ever got to the dealer and those do no include the 5 yr warrenty.......the ones that include that are the ones below that # with the ECM.

That's what my dealer told me as well; only the machines with a VIN# lower than 52115956 get the 5 year warranty on the reverse problem because they still have the old gear with the problem (bushing vs. bearing); the only fix those older models got was a newer ECM. The newer '05s with VIN#s higher than 52115956 have the fixed reverse gear and therefore don't have the 5 year warranty.
