Default 04 Eiger wierd problem

This looks like a great forum! New member looking for ideas on this problem. 04 Eiger driving down the road say around 30 the rear end lifts up then a popping sound and the rear goes back down. Its as if there is something binding. The speed of the atv stays the same it doesn't feel as if its slowing down. The tires stay on the ground its wierd, the rear of the eiger lifts up then a popping sound and it goes back down. Thanks for any ideas!

Can you recreate this when the quad is motionless by bouncing up and down on the seat? It's gotta be something in the suspension that's getting caught.

I talked to the dealer and he's never heard of it happening before. Nothing getting caught in the suspension, my first thought was u joint but those look ok. Im leaning toward the rear end gears. Im going to jack it up and see if I can recreate the incident. Thanks for your ideas ,Its a stumper.

Howdy Mountaincat 900,

Sorry I can't give you info on your problem but I was wondering........ aside from this strange problem, how do you like the eiger? How long have you had it. What lead you to it. Do you push any snow with it? I'am thinking about getting an 05 and ,so far, have heard pretty good stuff about it. Anyway, had to ask.

Hey Amphib, I love the eiger, I also have a vinson and Ill tell ya for an all around atv the eiger is great and at a reasonable price, We haven't plowed with it yet. You just feel more confident and stable on the eiger. Ive had numerous other brand riders comment and how they also think the eiger is a really great ATV . We are considering buying an 06 Eiger to add to the stable for the kids to ride with us.

I would check the rear break. Sounds like something may have broke inside the drum.

Mountaincat900,

Glad to hear that! I was thinking about getting a Foreman but backed off due to overall cost. As I mentioned to WVeiger, I always liked Eigers. Just seemed well made but simple and affordable. Seemed like the power was good to. Let me get this straight though,,, are you saying that the Eiger feels more solid than the Vinson? I know the Vinson is pretty solid to. Anyway, I appreciate your feedback. Hopefully, I end up with the E sometime down the road. Have a good one.
