Default KQ WHEELIES

I was wondering if a stock King Quad will do a wheelie.

Maybe on asphalt you could get a wheelie going...but not a very good one, I can barely get my front tires off the ground on grass and gravel in High and it Low, it's because of the "low end lag" that Suzuki purposely put in the engine for safety reasons, but there is suppose to be a fix for that early next year.

I can do wheelies fairly easy on my stock king! I can get it to go vertical with no effort at all really. I was surprised actually at how well it did do wheelies for being a 600 lb machine. I rode a honda trx450r before this machine and wanted a utility that had some snort and the king has got it! Should be really easy once i install the Dobeck tfi, pipe and UNI filter!

Maybe I'm doing something wrong when trying to do a wheelie because I can't get the front tires very high, the limited take off that Suzuki put in it really takes away from the KQ's abilitym, it makes it seem less powerful than what it is which no one likes that has one, I can't wait untill there's a fix for it because if it ever has as much power from the start as it does in the mid range I think it will unleash power in the KQ that no one thought was there.

I also can do easily with no trouble on any surface. You stand up and hit the throttle you dont have to hit the throttle that hard and at the same time pull up on the handlebars and theres a wheelie.

Are you talking just popping the front up or actually riding a wheelie? I must not be giving it enough gas when I try to do wheelies. But IF a fix for the low end lag ever comes out I'll be going vertical down the street!!!! That'd be a great X-mas present!!! All that take off power is being wasted by a stupid limiter from Suzuki....

Yes you can do a wheelie on the King. You have to power break it. If you never heard of power breaking it is when you hold the font break and give it a little gas. ***** NOT WIDE OPEN !!!!! ***** and let off the front break. You will have to experiment with the throttle position. It is very easy to hit the back rack when you do this so be careful. I think I use about 1/4 throttle

I'll have to try that, it sounds like it could work

Let us know how it goes toyeboy. I also saw on the Highlifter forums, but haven't gotten a chance to try myself yet, that if you stand up as far back on the floorboards as possible while going exactly 5mph and quickly sit down enough to compress the rear shocks, it will work. With that powerbraking thing, basically give it enough juice without brake-torquing it?

Yes hold the front break. Give it approx 1/4 throttle and let off the front break quickly and give it more gas to ride it out. Like I said you will have to experiment to find out what works for you with out over doing it. Putting you knee in the seat will also help out but your can also do it sitting on the seat. My back rack has a flat spot on it where I over did it a couple of times? . It is a little harder to do it on grass. But it can be done. It is much safer on the grass also! If you notice when you hit the gas wide open from the idle position it sputters. But if you hold the front break and give it gas you will bypass the sputter point and it will take off like a rocket.

GOOD LUCK!
