r-450 looks retarded
#14
it looks like a 450R with a differnt headlight and different rear fenders. i think it will look sweet after the headlight and those funky plastic heel gaurds are removed. i can see it looking like an LT if you remove the light. come on guys.... we havent seen it in person yet. and thats just a stock one. heck, that may not even be what it looks like. we will have to find out when it actually comes out and suzuki has something on their site.

Well now i feel dumb, cause on that link it talks about how you can remove the lights for racing and how not mnay aftermarket parts are needed.and it looks prett good from the side, and i love the yellow

Superevil, I think your opinions are spot on with a lot of people. I'm pretty excited about the new 450, but I agree totally about the look of the plastic. Not a fan of the front lights built into the grill (unless we're talking Tecate 4's, those looked awesome). Even if it can be taken off easily, the front plastic still doesn't have the look of the old LT's. I hate all the "pointy" platic on today's quads. I do like the rear fenders on the new 450 better than most, but they're still not like the old LT's. I think the reason it looks good from the side is because of it's stance, not it's plastic. It's stance looks more like an old quadracer. Notice how the rear of the seat/plastic doesn't stick up as high as a lot of today's sport quads. That's vintage quadracer.
As far as the yellow, I'm a big fan of that too. I just wish they'd paint the springs to match. I've always thought the combo of red shocks and yellow plastic was retarded.
Also, what's with the swingarm being steel? It seems like extra unecessary weight. Granted, I'm sure it's strong, but Suzuki's aluminum swingarms have been plenty strong enough for MX ever since the redesign of the original 85/86 style. My money says an aluminum swingarm will be a future upgrade.

I dont like the looks period. The only thing I like about it is its wide 49' stance, exhaust location, and fuel injection. Other than that the quad is ugly. I wonder if they make aftermarket fuel injection for the YFZ 450?
