I have an 06 z400. My hmf sport series s/o will be here tommorrow. I'm also getting a big gun cdi that advances timing and an uni filter. Which jets should I be using? What comes with dynajet kit? Should I just use larger factory jets? I don't want to buy the dynajet kit unless I have to. Any help would be appreciated.

i had a hmf slip on with 165 dyno jet dont buy a jet kit to much money go the local shop and get a jet like 3 $ each start with 170 and go from there

 

Yea I got a 165, 155, 150 mains. I put the 165 main in and it seemed to rich, I hadn't actually test ridden with the 165 in it because I had wheels off and tires getting changed. I put the 155 in and turned the screw out to 2.5 turns. It seems to cut out before I get up to rev limiter. About 3/4 throttle it seems. And I heard that the needle in these carbs is not adjustable so I didn't check. Did you put an aftermarket needle in?
I think I might chop the plug tommorrow and machine some rings into the needle so I can adjust if possible.
I think I'll have to jet back down a bit when I get my quiet core.

I also still have my lid on, just took off the top half of snorkel after I took it for a ride. I'm leaving lid on and intact because we ride through some preety deep mud and water.

So dj165 is just about mj155 right? That's what I got in there right now and it seems just a little lean so when I get my quiet core it should be just about right.
