Default Bombardier... alot of recalls

Pastor,
a thread like this is useless and you know it..It only serves as a way to start a flame war..I did'nt buy Bomb before because they had nothing that I liked, but now that the 800 is out,I have one on order..Do you suppose that because you come in and make arrogant recall remarks against ONE manufactures product without doing a comparison of the others, that folks will somehow now want to back out and not buy the 800?

I might also add that I own a Suzuki 700 KQ as well, and after ONE ride on the new Bomb 800,its

BYE BYE King Quad!

Any one that would buy an ATV based on these forums with out doing some serious research on their own has their head in the sand....One reason I wouldn't buy a Bombadier product is the dealer network here in the south....to few and far apart!...the other is the price, you just don't get that much more for your money...I looked hard and long before I settled on the KQ! I tried Yamaha,Suzuki,Bombardier,Honda,Artic Cat and Kawasaki...I took a yellow legal pad and wrote down all the plus's and minus's of the machines..and the QK won out for my style of riding and usage.. Whats next a 900?..Polaris I didn't try, because I will not buy one from our dealer.I have ridden all kinds of bikes, but I like Suzuki build quality better than most.

Not to throw gas on the fire, but I ahve to agree. Every atv manufactuer has had defects with their products and issued recalls. Just like everyone else said. Even the dependable Honda, has issued recalls. I am a Polaris guy by upbringing, but this Outlander may not look the prettiest, but it pulls like a beaten mule. At least the issue with the outlander was dealt with quickly. If I remember correctly, Suzuki had a recall and kept selling the recalled units without repairing them. BRP stopped sales on all 800 untill they were repaired. Hmmmmm.

If a recall is forced on a company by pressure from a government agency it is usually a safety issue.
If it is a reliability recall it is commitment to the customer and standing by their product and it is started by the company itself.
It is far better to admit you have a problem then fix it than to just make a fix "next year" ie the 01 Raptor trans issues.

At least when Bombardier found out they had a problem with their brand new flagship big bore utility ATV they acknowledged it, promptly issued a recall, fixed it and didn't sell the ones on the showroom floor until the fix was done.Another company that shall remain nameless *cough* Suzuki*cough* found their brand new flagship big bore ATV had a critical design flaw and they denied it, then sorta acknowledged it, then issued a half assed band-aid fix, then changed their design on their new machines but continued to sell the defective machines to unsuspecting customers and still refuse replace the defective parts unless they break leaving the owner stranded and/or injured. To this day dealers are STILL trying to unload the defective old stock ATVs on unsuspecting customers. All ATVs are going to have recalls. They have become so complex that it is almost inevitable. It is how a manufacturer deals with the issue which makes all the difference. The way Suzuki dealt with their critical design flaw is a textbook example of how not to deal with a defect.
Add Yamaha to that list of manufacturers that release flawed designs and don't recall them as they should....then updating the design later. 01 Raptor owner here .

>Pastor

>Hey...I can take alot of hits as much as the next guy. However, that really isn't what this thread is about. I sincerely wanted to start a thread that adressed this issue because >guys are looking for a comparison to the new outlander. It's not my fault if indeed the recalls are true, is it?

You do know that your posts are making you out to be a total moron, do you not ? Actually, having someone like you rant about how good KQ's are (and I'm sure that they are an ok atv) would make me not want to buy one, because it would make me feel as if I was in the same group, class, or for want of a better word... covey as you.
