Default location of air mixture screw(try this again)

I just put anew hmf slip on, 03 ltz400. Where is the air mixture screw on the carb? I should invest in a service manual eh? I guess it has to be 2 1/2 turns out and a 170 main jet.....runs great without doing anything to it right now...I'll will check the plug in awhile. running around the neighborhood for the last hour, hopefully I did'nt hurt anything. The shop where I bought it from said he didn't do anything to his in regards to jetting or air screw mixture. My lid is on and everyhing else is stock! Thanx for any help!

it kinda sounds like a big main for just the slip-on and airbox lid still on...

so does it run bad or good?

well than i would try the bigger jet and if it doesn't run right, you can allways put back in the stock jet.

I just checked the new plug I put in, it's black around the bottom thread, but the electrode is pretty white, I have seen plugs before alot whiter though......it it about 60 degrees in michigan here right now, does that help anyone? also I am hitting my rev limiter in each gear for the 1st time, that is a good thing though right? (power from the new pipe ?)

You should be able to hit the rev limiter on a totally stock quad, ...if its breaking up at the higher rpms, then the main may be too lean. Try taping the intake about 50% closed with duct tape and see if its better. That will fatten up the mistures.
The mixture screw is under the intake area and in front, of the float bowl.
