Sounds like you could save $90. But its probably worth it for the hassle.

Bullfrog for some reason I couldn't reply to your PM so I'll post the answer here.

When I went up on the tire size it should have made it a little higher geared. More top end, but slower acceleration. But I changed tires, installed exhaust, cdi, filter and sprocket so it actually has more bottom end even though I haven't changed the rear sprocket yet. 1 down in front and 1 up in rear make it very slightly lower geared than stock and just 1 down in front makes it slightly higher geared than stock (With going up to 22's)

The cdi was the first (and easiest) thing I installed so naturally, I took it for a spin as soon as I put it in. It made an incredible difference. Then, I installed the pipe and took it for a spin. It actually brought performance back down to stock because I hadn't jetted it yet. Then I jetted it, and it seemed to make about the same power as the cdi and stock pipe, it just revved to the top quicker. After that I installed the front sprocket and tires, they sent me the wrong rear sprocket so I didn't change it yet.

I know I've given you a lot more info than you asked for, just thought it may be helpful.

One more thing, these mods may not make the same difference on your quad. The 03 came with 6.6 less hp, and a 2mm smaller carb. The 05 & 06 carb also came with a tps on the carb to adjust the timing with throttle position.

Is the a 2mm biger carb, and tps on the carb the only performance difference on the05,and 06s bcuz thats like putting a pipe on mine to get about 7hp (full system). If so I think I might have to look into doing a switcharew on the 03 with some newer stuff. I was asking about the tires because im thinking I am going to have to go with some maxxis razor 2s cuz they look like they can take some chunks out of mother earth lol,23-f,22-r (same size as yours) on the yfz that I dont have yet lol. I figured it would be semi-close performance with what you have on your z.

YFZ's are a little too high geared to begin with. My brother and my buddy both went down 2 teeth on front sprocket. Same tire sizes as me. My brother did his first, and then they raced and my brother smoked him.

Well say I want to run high 80 maby 90mph (assfault). Do I need to go up or down or leave it stock on the sproket with the 23-f,22-r? Im thinking Dirt Wheels tested their yfz and it went 78 stock (baseline).
By the way I know im getting a pipe, filter ,jet kit and possablity I might get rev box. I know if it will rev higher it will go faster (top speed).

well leave the gearing stock when you put the 22's on then. It will probably be too high geared though. Mods might help that. You my even be able to still go down one tooth, and with the extra r's still get 90
