broken lt250 swingarm

Default broken lt250 swingarm

I have an 86 lt250 but the swingarm is craked, does any body have one for sale, I also have a quiestion, I found one on ebay but it is for a 87, does any body know if it will fit to my 86. tanks for your help.

in order to change to the 87-90 swingarm you would have to have the 87 up axle bearing carrier and caliper mounting hardware.

85-86 swingarms are known to crack around the bearing carrier but are very easily repaired/reinforced. I welded a 1/4" alum gusset bent and machined to fit on mine years ago and haven't had any problems since.

I'm with sam250, have someone welded it as long as the area the bearing ride is good shape.

Both styles are kinda $hitty. My 86 broke where you tighten screws after adjusting it. Not stripped, actually broke. My 89, as with any of these style I've heard of or seen, always loosen up.

It seems to me the 86 style would be better if properly reinforced. But I'd rather have one that was screwed up then repaired and reinforced, than one that was in decent shape to begin with.

i just broke my 86 swing arm today right at the carrier pretty bad, in two pieces, do you have a picture of the one you fixed up looks like?
