does anyone know the piston diamiter for the lt 230 chain drive?
#1
my friend got what we thought was a lt 185 and now that we are rebuilding it . things arent making sense.. the head was different then the one in the clymer manual for one.. and the piston is way oversized for a 185.. so its maybe a boored 185 with a 230 head on it or its really a 230.. chances are its really a 230 . but we are unable to figure out the piston diamiter for the 230.. thanks for any help

yea actually we saw that.. and according to the jug its a 185.. Do you happen to know if the jug was the same on the two with a different bore? if not i hope his isnt bored to the limits already. its weird tho the head is different then the one in the clymer manual.. we thought it was just a mistake in the manual.. the bolt configuration is differnt though . and that kind of threw us off. could be a quite a project if it ends up being mixed and matched parts from different machines. i still wonder if its just a mistake in the clymer manual and its a heavily boored 185 already. have to wait and see though . thanks for your reply and ill post back and let you know the outcome .

Write down the VIN, and call a local Suzuki dealer. They should be able to tell you the model and year. At least that would give you a starting point.

got er figured out.. its a 185.. the mesurements from in the clymer were for the 125 and they did not specify nore did they have the ones for the 185.. that is why we were thinking the piston was oversized because we were going by the specs for the 125.. its all good.. everythings right and all is original never been boored over . will be soon tho.. thanks for your help peoplez
