actually....it came with the twist throttle and i put back on the stock thumb throttle...its just my preference though...the twist wasnt so bad...its just hard to let go of sometimes when i was drag racin it...cus ur just holdin on and u cant let off the throttle ....its one fast bike haha...but its just your preference.

yeh i was thinking of getting it because i am used to driving dirtbikes but i am afraid of when i hit bumps or somthing that i will go on the throttle more so i think i am going to stay with the thumb throttle

u got a nice 87 there also....do those have the power valve or did they start that with the 88's???? im jw because i drove an 86 i think it was and it didnt have the powervalve and i gotta say that mine runs WAYY smoother than that one did....i wus jw if you like it not having the powervalve or not.....

Yeah it's got the powervalve and bigger intake ports on that year motor, same reed cage as the 500.

I guess speed could depend on gearing, i mean you could change the gearing on just about any quad to make it go fast on the top end w/ the sacrifice of the bottom end.. Power is easier to make on the 87 jug because of the size of the intake ports. Look at a stock 88 89 90 cage compared to an 87 and youll see what im saying.. I believe suzuki also used the 87 style jugs on some of the later models 91-92 ... Using up old stock before the end of production i presume.. later
