I've seen the post where people have talked about using a 300ex swingarm, but I can't find any details about what is involved with that. Have any of you guys seen this, or have a link to someone that has done it.

I know I can just extend my factory arm, but I want to research all options.

I've never heard of such a thing.

Whoever did it, probably just welded on a pipe like you did to extend yours.

Well, if you're gonna do that, then why not just keep the 230 swingarm?

It might be easier to get the swingarm you want and weld mounts on the frame to fit it... rather than machining a whole new tube.

I finally worked out a deal on a LT250s engine to put into my 230.

Do you guys have any suggestions for anything I should do to it, before installing it? At a minimum I'll check the compression and valve clearance. But I'm thinking that I should probably go ahead and pull the head and check out the cylinder walls.

Where did you find one?

When I got mine, I just put kerosene in it to clean the inside. Then rode it.

I t was one on eBay. We haggled a little on the price and I got him down to what I thought was reasonable.

Put it on your quad n run it,you need to see if all gears work n if it needs a clutch? If you dont see what it needs u may only put rings in it,install it,then find u need to take it back out because tranny is bad.Thats what I would do. But I have been called n Idiot before.
