tore it down completely, painting the frame black and thinking maybe orange for a-arms and silver swingarm. Also, what hubs do i need to use 4x144 and 4x110 rims? and whats everyone think so far? also still wondering about BigMc's specs......Thanks
Frame:

piston, .75 over, yet only 66mm??????? anyone have an idea on this?

Piston clearance in the cylinder and cylinder actually measured out to about 66.5mm

also, my ring end gap is at .20, does anyone know what it should be? thanks again....

Wow, it's been along time since I've posted on here. What's everyone up to these days? I have retired from building 230's and lt230s engines. But I still know alot about them. I have started a career in flying so if I don't respond right away, I will eventually.

Engine set up when I had her, you'll have to go to my profile and look it up. I remember the last thing I put on her was a Kevlar clutch set from Barnett. Ebay has been a good source of parts. And I wouldn't use different hubs from another make or model or spacers. Use a different offset rim like I did or change the rear axle out for one out of an lt250r.
Also Rockymountainatv.com is where I got my rims and tires from.
Go to the link in my sig and check for compatible parts for your 230. It's the most complete list out there.

I never got a chance to test this, but the rear hubs from the honda atc200 should work. There were several varieties of these hubs from different year Hondas and I don't remember which year that I thought would work.

I put these G-Force hubs on my LT250s in 4/115 Banshee flavor and they work out well.
They also fit my 1982 ATC250R so I can swap out the tires depending on what I am riding on.
