Oh, she moved out of bama a long time ago.... Rag away!
I always thought everybody was nice tho. They'd strike up a conversation sitting in traffic with me, weird, but nice.
In Toledo, if you even look at someone else in traffic you get shot. And if they miss they chase you down and shoot again. LOL
Another neat thing, I thought, about bama was I could pick up any rock and hold it to the sun and see right thru it. Is that the way it is where you live? Those rocks were SUPER COOL!

The kung fu flicks got me as well! Then I saw Bruce.... That was it for me!
I have taken countless styles of Karate (Korean styles probably my favorite), Gung fu (pretty but not very effective)
Had the pleasure of becoming great friends with a kid from Thailand in 4th grade. He barely spoke english and kids being kids teased him. I had never seen *** whippin like he laid down! Knees, elbows, ruthless!! Brutal efficiency! I had to learn Muay Thai! Became my favorite real fast! If you can make it thru the training regimens your already tougher than most!!!
All the above served me well for 10 plus years.
Went to Cabo San Lucas for fishing and fun when I was probably 21-22 with my Thai buddy.. We ended up in a brawl with some idiots over something idiotic in a club. We made short work of them, then the bouncers came..... Our first introduction to Brazilian Jujitsu.. Had our rear ends handed to us!!! This was the first time my friend had ever been beat! Drove him/us crazy for about a day! He dissappears for a couple of hours, shows back up at the hotel drunk with the bouncers!! I thought they were back to whip again me at first!! Started dabbling in jujitsu the next day!!
Believe it or not this is just a summary, sorry.
Look up Urijah Faber and if you ever get to see him fight, incredible!!
If you ever read any of Bruce Lee's books, MMA is what he was trying to create!
Take the best, most efficient stuff from ALL the arts! wish he could have lived to see how far it has evolved!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urijah_Faber Not bad! Muay Thai IS very brutal. Bruce incorporated some of his difficulty in learning that style into one of his movies. I guess he eventually picked it up and used "what works". But I think it was Bruce's physical condition that gave him the ability to come out on top so much. He was just so damn fast! And he knew what you were going to do before you did it, because he knew everybody's style. Fighting was life to him. He had a severe case of OCD, LOL.
I have Bruce's book, The Tao of Jeet Kune Do, all his movies, and several dedication videos and biographies. I mastered the 1-inch punch. My favorite exercise! Removing a tooth from a head is like batting an eye, but faster. There is no defense. Then in 1996 I saw the movie, Iron and Silk. You should watch it if you never have. Its about a Kung Fu fanatic who goes to China to teach english and ends up training with the grandmaster Pan Qingfu http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pan_Qingfu They call Pan the iron fist because everyday he hits an iron plate 5000 times. Apparently, guns were banned in China, the Triad gang didn't necessarily agree with the government's stance and armed themselves in their criminal activities anyway. Pan took them all out single handedly and became a national hero in China. Guy's got ***** of iron too.
So, that's when I got into the internal styles and embraced the Chinese Shaolin notion of Chi. I had the opportunity to study Chen style Tai Chi with a praying mantis guy from Vietnam. I heard that he escaped from a concentration camp and fled to the US. It was also rumored he used Tai Chi to heal himself of cancer. Anyway, I never knew Tai Chi could be so hard. No matter what I did it was always wrong. To him I was just swinging my arms around and he kept putting his fist in his hand and carrying on about a ball... I should be like a balljoint. From what I've been told, you have to study the internal styles as you get older because you're just too slow for the hard styles against the younger crowd. But Tai Chi is a real pain in the butt to learn, but you can really clear a room with it once you do pick it up.
Last fight I was in had to do with a much bigger guy who seemed to like throwing his weight against anyone smaller than him. In this case it was my bud after he made some comment about a city in OH that sux. The guy got all huffed up and looked like he was meaning business so I had to go get in the middle of it. I let the big puff throw me around for a while and the last time,,, I landed on a table n thought, "enough's enough". One kick was all it took. He went down and they dragged him out. By that time I was seeing red and the only thing I could think was, "if he comes at me one more time I'll have no choice but to kick him in the jaw with a front kick... No way I can wrestle the guy, he's too big and too pissed from getting kicked in the gut and landing on the floor." So glad it didn't come to that. I went back to shooting pool like nothing happened. The next day I had to confront my fear n go back to the bar,,, fully expecting him to come with a vengance,,, he never showed. I'm not sure why. I think that he thinks he can take me. He just got a surprise kick and he wouldn't let that happen again. This is why I like Chin Na and Aikido, you can wrestle a guy and not have to hit him. Once you make him submit, you don't have to watch your back as much. Break an arm or nose and you can bet he will come with weapons if necessary and catch you off guard. One guy I know said I handled it all wrong. I should first offered to buy the guy a beer. Bruce Lee fully advocated the art of fighting without fighting.
