Default 85 to 88 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport help.

Your shocks are probably too long or something. Those lower ***** are pretty tough.... On the 250 version they are not even replaceable! They are made into the lower a-arm! So, if you're replacing 7 of them, your quad is not set up right.

You should take your shocks off and find where the ***** are binding and see if your shocks are too long. Maybe your a-arm is bent too.

As far as replacing it goes, a heim joint from a 4-link should work. So should a tie-rod end from a car too. Check out this site: http://www.bulletproofsteering.com/boltspecs.html

Gentlemen...Good to see I am not the only one with a dusty project waiting on free time!
I had a bit more to figure out and then finding time to hunt and build...but it's getting there. Maybe seeing someone's new pics (and splatter burns) can scare the ghosts back.
Rear is done, front is close...should weld up the top shock mounts this week. Still leaves the plastic mounts, tweak the rear support and build an airbox

I have the same bike, if you have questions still. I can take a picture, but looks just like my '87 230S if I remember. Cannot swear they are original.

My son (11) talked me into building the bike to accept a E...replacing his 80 Raptor. We'll make it run somehow or mount the S motor w/GUKI

I am picking up a knew plug in the morning. I have used the four i bought a year ago. I checked the plug and it did not look to bad, but the gap was more then it was when I put it there, Weird.

maybe these have what you need http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...l1116#ebayphotohosting
I am pretty sure this one has it and the bottom nut for cheap. I downloaded the larger image of tthis one and blew it up to see that bushing. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...l1116#ebayphotohosting

Randy, Have yo ever sold anything on e-bay. You do not need a store unless you get the sales for it. selling as a member is actually a lot easier. You should try some things that are simple and small to ship first. Old video games are perfect to start with. Take one good picture and just click sell in you summary. it is easy to learn there catogorizing with a simple game. plus you can put in a flat rate shipping for a flat rate envelope. after you have a few good feedbacks as a seller people will buy motor parts without worrying about being ripped off. It is harder to sell motor parts then other things, I get tons of questions. If you list a game with one picture and a starting bid of .99 cents it only cost .15 cents to list it.

hey 4xJeep, what shock are you useing as a replacement on the rear, is it off a LTR450? I was looking at picking one up rather cheap but do not know the measurement without the linkage. What were the issues with the new shock and the existing swingarm?

I am looking to add a couple of inches to the rear arm and fit a newer shock to it.

i will tell u that a 300 ex shock bolts right in our 230 but is about ? 2" too long roughly. so if u wanted too add a few inches into the swing armbefore the shock mount it would work. If ya want i can measure the 300 shock and give up the dim.
