No clue on the tranny.

Does the engine have problems starting when hot or cold?

XP is basically win2k with extra software integrated into the OS... Like firewalls, cd burning software, etc that nobody uses. First thing everyone does is disable the windows firewall and install something like zonealarm. There are a few other smaller things that are neat about xp. The themes are nice.

I'm going to the post office (taxes) and the store. That's the extent of my excitement for the day. Still rainy here.

Both of your days sound better than mine! I just woke up to get ready to go to a class, then I come back, cram for my 12 o'clock test. After I take the 2 hour test, I have to go to Bio, then come home and study for my two other tests on Friday for the rest of the night.

Mine did that. Would start cold everytime, but once warm maybe 10% of the time it would start and the other 90% it would wear me out n still not start. I tried everything for months to fix it. It ended up being the magneto coil.

The coil was in spec, but still was bad. The only reason I replaced it was I was replacing the lighting coil anyway.

Be sure you use locktite on all internal screws that you take out. A guy that used to post here had one fall out and break his timing chain.

Yeah,,, I don't envy you in that regard. Spent more than half my life in school. And I won't forget. Its like grabbing a hot exhaust pipe.... I'll never do that again.

Hey, so you said Checker or Napa would have a feeler gauge for a couple bucks?

How long of a job is that to check and adjust them? Do you have to pull the motor or can you just work around the frame?
