Anyone know if a lt250R carb will fit on a 230? I'm assuming it will. Looks like it will bolt on, I'm just wondering about the throttle cable.

uhh well what year lt250r is it?

cuz the 85-86 have 32mm vm's which i guess you could make work with some serious porting and a good bore, but the 87+ have 34mm tm's that i highly doubt would work.

Won't work reliably anyway being its a 2 stroke carb.

I have a lead on a good working king quad carb for $100 shipped, is that a good deal?

a vm's a vm, and a tm's a tm. the jetting and needle may be different, but that can be changed.

anyways, what year and size kq is it?

It's an LTF 250. Not sure on the year. I know king quad carbs will work, just wondering what a good price would be.

while it may fit and work, it may not give a worthwhile performance increase.

if its an early LTF (first 2 years of production) it should have a vm (roundslide) type carb on it. it MAY be bigger than the 230's, but it also may not be since the ltf250 is not a performance oriented vehicle.

if its a later model LTF's, its a CV-type and you DONT want it. You will need to seek mental help after attempting to tune it lol.

and it will not have nearly as good of throttle response either. (much like mechanical secondaries vs vacuum secondaries in the car world)

you got more specs or any pics of the carb?

Didn't Randy always say the 28 flat slides were pretty inexpensive, readily available, and a fairly decent jump in power?

I was just searching through the threads trying to find out who said that! I thought it was him. Doesnt he have one on his 230?

lt230sman 07-07-2009 10:55 PM
