well idk...but i know that z400 top speed is 72 so maybe your friend was babying it? idk...

 

Sorry to bump this thread, but i have been thinking this for a while. My z will have an estimated 42 h.p., and the raptor i will be racing has 40-42, h.p., , so that is pretty even. But i have a good 35 lbs, weight advantage, not to mention i can rev up to about 10 grand. And can rev alot faster than the 700R. So with perfect traction, on a moderate run i will have to be able to beat him? Right? It just makes sence, look at a yfz, It has as much h.p. as a 700, but can out accelerate it most of the time. My z has never been that far behind a stock yfz. When me and yfzrydermace raced (when his was stock) I was only about 2 1/2 legnths behind him. And this is about a quater mile. With this cam, pipe, piston, setup i am gonna be undoubtably faster than a stock, or slightly modded yfz.
Not to mention a stock 700R. Well i will be waiting for a good debate to start here, peace.

 

Your estimated HP sounds a little high to me but even then the 700 has monster torque to go along with the HP it has. Doesn't YFZrydermace have a 700R now? Go race him and let us know.........[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

Yeah Ozark i have a Raptor 700 now i am the one 660Rryder is talking about. The only problem is 660Rryder's Z isn't running all of that stuff has even been put on his Z yet so we cant race untill his is fixed. But buy the time his is fixed i will already have a pipe for my Raptor. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

Also Ozark how r u liking your Raptor with the HMF? Have you raced any other quads yet? If so what was the outcome? MACE

 

LOL, this coming from a kid riding a bike from the smallest adult atv class? You have a 250cc four stroke and no clutch and you're going to lecture us on the ease of drag racing?

The z will not be embarrassed, but it wont be a nail biter either.

 

How does your 700 compare to your old Yam450?

 

Hey Mace!.........Haven't had a lot of time to race, with the crappy weather we had and then I wrecked it pretty good the day after Christmas. Just got it fixed yesterday matter of fact = just like new....[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]
I did race a pack of piped YFZs (first time out after mods) and it did EXTREMELY well........[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]
.......Oh, and it beats my buddies piped Predators pretty good too.

 

Mace! quit making fun of me, as a matter of fact paul has my bottem end done! So ha! And to the question of Yfzrydermaces raptor vs. his 450, thats a joke. That yfz was a freaking missile. Yes i am admitting to it now Jamie, so you can go gloat around, but yeah his 450 was alot faster. He could dump the clutch in third gear and have to worry about the thing crawling out from under him. One word BEAST!

 

Alright guys back to 700 vs z. i have k&n air fliter pro flow adapter no lid, jet kit, barnett clutch, and full DG Bullet exhaust and i smoked my cousin on his 700 stock. it wasnt 3/4 mile or anything ive beat him up dunes by a mile!! But straight drag i beat by a couple quad lenghts i tear him up on acceleration but its the raptors top speed that helps him.
