Spend $1500-2000 on a clean Quad Racer or spend $4000-6000 on an equally clean used Z400. What would you do and why? What are the pluses and minuses of each model in comparison to the other?

well i can have a whole 86' 250 for free , all i have to do is get a fram and some little stuff, i have a 05 kfx, im flipping a coin just to see if i want the 250.ive heard they are great bikes, i had a 96 shee just exhaust and nerf bars so not a prob. either a 2 stoke is on or its off, im not sure if i want to try and mess with it. if u have a short fuse(ME) prob not something u want. but 2 strokes are fast, not many aftermarket parts for the lt .

theres a couple of people on this forum with them . pm and see what they think. i havent rode one, i do love my kfx/z . your doing the right thing , ask around , i hope it helps you.

Depends on what your looking for. I have ridden both and i own an 88 lt250. THe lt250r is definitely faster stock for stock to me and seems quite a bit sportier, but there are going to be way more aftermarket options for the z400. The z400 can be made into a serious racer,as can the lt250r. i dunno like the lt's

I think the hardest part would be routing the expansion chamber.

Joe

PS. David, my plastic is due to arrive next week so I can start my LTS project.

Here is the item number for the plastic I won on Ebay 4601511888. The subframe I won will work no problem. I just dont know where to position it yet until I get the plastic. I may also have to extend the swingarm to clear the front of the rear fenders. If that needs to be done I will just make a new one from scratch as it is a simple design.

do you got a seat for it?? i was thinkin of just getting ahold of some white rear fenders and a blue seat off of one because my front fenders are basicly mint condition also if you would be able to take pics and remember everything you did to fit them on it would be greatly apreatiated i am only 14 years old and i think i am going to have to redo my bike by my self and i don't want to mess anything up and waste any money on somthing that will not work

Yes, I have the seat, subframe and plastic on the way. I am going to take photos along the way and try to make a jig for any parts I fabricate. That way anyone that needs them can buy the pieces from me. That of course is if it all works out good.
