What weight oil and how much?

What weight oil and how much?
I just got my Suzuki 300 back from the shop. The mech. told me to run it about an hour and then change the oil. He said 10w30 oil would work. Is this the best for my 4 wheeler? And how much will it hold? My 4 wheeler is an 86-88 year model. Thanks, Scott Woody
