I have a 05 king quad with 90 hours and 700 miles and love it. I noticed a knocking sound from it sounds like the valves I do not know if it has been doing this all along or it is new. I have not had the valves ajusted yet. Should I have the valves ajusted and is this sound normal valve noise. Also a vibration in the petals this has been going on sence new at a idol.

Hi...I get a "bottom end" knock for a couple seconds when I start the king (05) cold...goes away right away though....I believe it's there till oil pressure builds up...I have heard others mention it and belive its normal....fwiw I run 5w30 conventional oil in the king and will switch over to synthetic at about 500 miles....(I use 10w40 in the summer)....the rythm of the knock is same as engine rpm so I belive it's crankshaft related....if your noise sounds faster then that then it's likely valves that need adjustment.....don't let that go too long....loose valves (they are noisey) will cost you performance and be a little hard on the valvetrain....tight valves (won't make any noise) will destroy the head and cost you big $$$$$...either way pull off the cover and check them if you know how to....otherwise it shouldn't be an expensive fix at the stealership....

thanks My noise is top end when hot at idol. Other is a vibration in the pedals at idol that also goes away of idol and is not present all the time. I will be having the dealer ajust my valves and see if that works.
