Can I win this race?
#1
I got an '86 quadracer 250, pretty much stock, and a dude with a bone stock 400ex wants to drag me. It'll be short, and it's gonna be 3 races. Up a steep hill, a 400 ft drag, and a 800 ft. drag. Can i win them? it's sorta important cuz there's money on the table. We are about the same skilled riders so take that into effect, except i can climb hills better. let me know, thanks

I'm not sure I would have bet much more than lunch money. If the Zuk has good compression and a solid clutch it should win. I wouldn't be surprised if you need that grudge match to prove it though.

What do you mean by "pretty much stock"?? If you have a pipe & re-jet you'll win, if your 250 is stock, you'll probably lose on top-end.
I raced my nephew when my '86 was stock & he beat me on top-end with his '04 400ex (stock) Once I piped & jetted my 250 it was lights out for him. He never stood a snowballs chance.

By "pretty much stock" i mean all i got on it is an fmf pipe, renthal handlebars, and filter kit. I didn't do a whole lot, but i that's what's done to it, so should it get the job done? By the way imma be trading it in next year for a raptor 700 or 450R

With my experience I would be very hesitant about a 250 2 stroke racing a 400 4 stroke in a hill climb. It will be close, maybe too close to call, but if you keep those revs up and don't miss any gears I would maybe give you the edge. But any slip up and the 4 stroke will be in front. Just out of curiosity you said what the 2 hill climb races are what is the 3rd race? Or is it 3 sets of the 2 lengths ? Either way good luck and please post the out come.

Well feel confident that you should win at least 1 of the 3. Just get at least 1 of those hill climbs and you'll be sitting pretty ( as long as it is best out of 3 ). You could probably even stretch it out to a 1/4 mile drag and still win hands down.
