2002 ozark front wheel bearing spacers
#1
Hi Guys I got a question for you.
I bought a used ozark for my son. It runs great but the guy that had it before him kept riding when the front wheel bearings blew up. Needless to say i have to replace the spindle on the right side and bearings and brake calipers. THe left side blew up but not as bad.
The question is, on the spacers. On the drawings, you can see it looks like 2 different sizes. Why cant i just get a peice of pipe and cut it to fit inside? The axles are straight. These spacers will be like $25 to get all 4.
Any suggestions?
THanks,
Bob

As far as I can remember, I think my 03 Ozark only had one spacer per wheel. It broke down like this; dust seal - inner bearing - spacer - outer bearing - dust seal. Btw, both bearings (inner and outer) were the same. If you do use a pipe of some sort, I'd make sure its the exact same dimentions as the spacer. Personally, I'd just get the new spacers and be done with it.

You could fabricate it, ive done it a few times. But its got to be better than a saw cut. If you use a lathe, and make the two ends parallel and the length correct, and the id and od are ok...go for it. If they are so buggered up, that they need replacement, you probably cant measure them acturately enough, to find the demensions for the ones you make.
