ok im getting a z400 any year but i have some questions. About the 03 model i hear alot of the frames cracking and other stuff. Does the 04 model still have that problem or did Suzuki fix it and does it apllie to the KFX model too?And then there is the new models 05 and 06 and i hear they have problem also with the clutch cover or w/e. Is that easy to fix? and then the my other part is, is it better to get used for less or new for more im trying to decide but dont know which. And for used is what should i look out for when buying?

 

03's had 2 frame problems...1 they had bad gusseting jobs so thier frames would crack after hardcore riding, and 2 the grab bar is part of the subframe instead of a bolt on, so if you wheelied too far and bent the grab bar there is a possibility of bending your subframe...the 05's and 06's have magnesium clutch =covers and the coolant they put in them corrodes the magnesium but if you order an 04 clutch cover or run different coolant then you won't have a problem...just do your research and buy a good one...and i would try to get an 05 or o6 and just buy an 04 clutch cover that way you can get the extra clutch plate, better cam timing, and resevior shocks...
