Default 97 lt-fwd 250 suzuki quadrunner hard start +

I've got a 97 lt-f4wdv 250 suzuki quadrunner 4 x 4 that I have only had for a couple of months. The guy I got it from must have abused it some. I have been fixing things on it including the carb. I just cleaned and rebuilt it. It was hard to start before and ran really rough but now it is still hard to start, almost impossible. The times I have got it to run, it seems to be okay until it gets hot and then it dies when I come to a stop. It will restart but I really have to pump the throttle and then use the throttle to keep the rpms up so it does not die again. Anyone have any ideas?

Sorry to hear about your problem. I, however, have had the same problem on my 97 LT-FWDX 300. It was the fuel petcock (SP) . . . the little thingy that turns your fuel to "ON" "OFF" "RESERVE". There is a little "O" ring in there that went out. And guess what, you can't just buy the "O" ring, you have to purchase the whole petcock.

I believe I paid around 80 crispy chicken nuggets ($80) for mine installed at the dealership.

They can test it at a dealership for you, (you may have to hint around about the petcock cause they will try to sell you a new carb) They have to check the vaccumm (SP) lines from the carb to diagnose the "O" ring problem I mentioned above.

Good Luck.

John
