Ok, i don't want to start anything, all i want is some honest opinions. I was going to buy a predator but i decided not to when polaris eliminated the 3 year warranty. So here is what i am wondering. I want a new quad, my desicion in between a 2006 Z 400, or a 2006 Raptor 700R. Price difference, is going to be around $1000, canadian, so that is something to keep into considertion. Any input or info on these bikes (whats the positive/negatives on them) would be greatly appreciated. Again, i don't want to create anything by comparing these two. I have never owned one, or tried one, and i want opinions from the people that own them. Thank you.

I'll have a crack at this - It would depend on what you will do with it.
If you race then you should be looking at the 450s as theyre not much dearer than the 700.
For trail/duning then the 700 has a bit more power obviously but is also a bit heavier too.
Theres nothing wrong with the 400 at all and is very appreciative of a few mods to get more out of it.
Unfortunately alot of people remember the 660s shortcomings and therefore wont buy the new one but it is alot different than the old one.
I have an '05 400 and reckon theyre a great all round bike and are the best value for money.
At the end of the day for me its the one that gives you the best grin and I reckon it would be a Raptor.

If you want to ride tighter trails go with the Z, if you're going to ride open roads/sand dunes go with the Raptor. I ride tight trails with my Raptor 660 and I love it. My buddy has a Z400 and didn't like mine because it felt "tippy." I love mine but his was definately quicker and more responsive in the tighter stuff. I can't tell you anything about the Raptor 700, sorry.
