z400 frame problum

That sucks mucky.
I gussetted mine on this rebuild because I want to race this season and I didn't want to take a chance.
No matter what you do, you can still mess up a frame if it takes a huge hit. No gussets can prevent everything.

BlackKawi - I thought the subframe was bent but when I went to the dealer I found that the Z's come with a slight angle on the right side of the subframe right above from where the rear master cylinder sits.
I'll post some picts soon on Putfile also. I'm not going to gusset as much as you though since I need to get this thing to the powder coat shop by Tues morning and I'm doing on the welding myself. We usually only race flatrack/TT and only really jump at the dunes.
Good thing it's raining outside here today. I'd be pissed that I was at home welding rather then riding my new LTR450...

ok, replying to original question, I discovered a stress crack behind my front upper shock mounts, since then got it welded, gussets installed, and put 450r front shocks on, now i cracked mine bottoming hard off a 50ft table, and motocross conditions is what cracks them, trail riding ur fine. hard landings cracks them. no problems since then.

for mine i had seen bare performance's kit and considered it bc they are about 45min south of me, and just took pictures of that kit to a local top notch welder and he cut own his own, welded em on and welded the crack no problem, they work fine. i'll try to get some pics.
