I have an ltz400 and i ordered an hmf pipe for it... I've been riding for at least 2 years but sadly ive never touched or tried jetting the carb. Ive heard it is not too hard but you can really mess your bike up if done wrong. Any help or step by step direction to jetting the z400 would be great ( or any great sites or links that give jetting info for the z400)....

the pipe should come with instuctions and a jet for it. it should be close but you will have to check your jetting.
once you install the pipe and the jet you need to run it at around 4000 rpm for a while and then shut it off
pull the spark plug and look at the color. if its black then its too rich and you need to go smaller on the jet
if its white then its too lean and that can burn up your motor so you need to go larger on the jet
its easy to do but if its the first time that you have done it, it could be tricky.
search the forums there was somebody on here with a link on how to jet and I think it will help you a lot
