Default lt250r exhaust valve question..PLEASE HELP

Got a 1990 LT250R QuadRacer. I look through the sight window giving the quad throttle and nothing is happening. So I took off the sight window to get a better look. The exhaust valve control rod is attached to the clip at about 2:00 on a clock. Pulled the rod out of the clip and the clip fell to 6:00 position. The rod won't really move...so if iwanted to attach the rod to the clip at the 6:00 position i don't think it would happen. When you get into the throttle what is supposed to happen as you look through the sight window? What wrong with this thing? Any help would be super!

Yes, its seems to run O.k. but when your up in the revs just feels like its missing power. Can't
feel the"powerband" kick in like i've experinced with most 2 strokes with exhaust valve. Still puzzled??

Well Boogey it could be a few different things, Sounds like it is your jetting I know if your getting too much gas it will bog down in the higher rpms, but I couldnt tell ya without knowing how its set up like what are u mixing your gas to 20/1 30/1 40/1 do a few things check your spark plug out see what it looks like right after you run it then take the bowl off the carb see what # is on the main jet the one right in the middle after that "I" would have a better idea, Peace
