I am trying to debate between buying a 700r raptor or ltz 400 i am 15 with 5 years experince on a suzuki vinson manual, honda 300 and a honda xr100 i mainly will be using this for trials and fireroads and a little mud

 

I'd go for the Z400 or the LTR450 . the Z would be great for what you want
and I'm not partial to rappys

 

I know I own a yammy but go with the raptor because its fuel injected and has a lot morer motor ans power than a z. I am gong through the same thing and I think I am going to get the raptor because I have only heard good reviews nothing bad.

 

I'd go with the 700R, it will give you plenty of power plus it has EFI which is latest n greatest.

 

Bad part it's 7 grand. I won't be getting that one. Z400 for me. I'm sure you will be happy with either quad.

 

It all depends on how much money you want to spend. Both quads are great trail bikes, I have 04 Z400 and my brother has a 05 660r raptor. They both have there differences but if I could go back and choose again I would have waited on the new 700r raptor. The Z is the BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK.....but if money is no object go with the 700r

 

also it depends on how tall u r and how much u weigh. I am 15 but i am short, only 5'3' and the raptor 700 has a long gastank so i was not comfortable.

 

money wise you cant beat the z400. i was thinking uf upgading to the raptor 700 but i didnt see enough that i like that justified me spending all that extra money. If money isnt a issue then i would maybe go with the raptor, but with that said i like my kfx400 and have no complaints.

I would say go with the Z400. Not as much money than the 700R and still has lots of power and those quads are great for modding! The 700R is great but I am also 15 and I'm about 6 feet tall and if I give my friend's 700 all its got, I have a hard time staying on that thing! For me, my Quad Racer does just fine.
