My balance shaft in my lt500r has been broken since I bought it. I finally just broke down the motor thinking I had tranny problems than realizing that the nut that came off the balance shaft was getting in the way of my 1/2 shift. I though bolts were vibrating out cause of the long rod setup, but i think its cause there was no balance shaft.

My q's..

anyone have a used balance shaft?
anyone run without one intentionally?
other than vibration, anything bad happen if I remove it?

Looking for any info you may have.

i imagine you would have to tighten every bolt on the bike after you ride it every time. but more importantly isnt there a seal around that shaft that goes from the left side, all the way thru the gearbox to the right side? its only 100 bucks new. ronnies.com

I wouldn't run one without it... Self destruction at its finest!

 

i totally agree with dune . you can run it without it .... for a few minutes . then you will be replacing more then the balancer shaft .

 

How much do you want for it? I need the shaft, the nut and washer, and could use the gear if you have one kicking around.
