alrite a kid at school brags how his stock 450r is so fast and how he can beat the lt-r450. well today he tells me how he raced a z-400 and its soo slow compaired to his 450r. im just wondering how much slower is the z-400 over a 450r

 

What is done to the Z and what is done to the 450? Stock for stock the 450 will win in a drag race but the 400 has plenty of power and a lot of potentiall. You can make them almost if not AS FAST. Lots of people with new quads are biased and talk like that. A lot of it can be the rider too...

 

they both are stock from what he told me.

 

i no for sure the 450r is stock, but he also said that he beat a yfz with a race engine in it and fully piped and all the other goodies with his stock 450r.

 

the honda prolly pushes mid 70s, the suzuki prolly pushes high 60s-low 70s. not that big of a difference, prolly 5-10 mph.

 

well his exact words were " that z was so slow". but this kid also brags a lot. he said 3 months ago he was getting this 900 white brothers pipe and hes getting a valve kit. he also said he was getting it again today, still hasent happened

 

This guy is obviously a honda guy. No way in hell he beat a piped YFZ with other goodies. The 450r is probably 5 mph faster then the Z-not that much difference and the Z is alot better trail machine.

 

Me being in high school I know how all the kids are, they think that there 4wheel is faster than god him self.With the mods I have done to my z400 it will not walk my friends 450r but what ever bike gets the holeshot wins. Me being 210 pounds on the Z and him 170 on the 450r but if he rides my Z it is just nasty, He will pull 3-5 bike lengths on me.

 

lilhodgson - I can assure you that if the LTR450 had the airbox lid on, arrestor in, and no cherrybomb the 450r probably did win... But, tell the kid with the ltr450 to remove the lid/arrestor and drop the $40 on the CB then race the 450r again, this time for pinks.... use the 'double dog dare you' thing that most high schooler's use if he has to.... make sure it's a short race because since the LTR has 18's on the rear the 450r would start to catch up after around 75-100 yards or so and you don't want to give that guy anything to come back with later...

if not for pinks, say the looser has to put his tongue on a frozen flag pole since you live in Canada ... and please take a video of that and post it......

 

tell him to bring his 450r down here to texas, i'll shut up. mines bone stock!!!(shhhhh........)
