my bad luck never fails...

in class i installed my new piston rings, so i was ready to put the cylinder back on. my teacher was going to put the cylinder. SOOOOO he was taking the nuts off the engine that holds the cylinder on.(i put things back in there spots so i know where they came from). with my crappy luck, he accidentally dropped one of the nuts inside the case. we doesnt see it or hear inside and we tried to find it with a magnet. THE MAGNET FELL OUT SOMEWHERE AND WERE ASSUMING ITS IN THE ENGINE. SO THERE IS ANOTHER PROBLEM. it cant be sticking to the case because i believe its aluminum, so it has to be near the transmission or anything but the case. Dont get me wrong my teacher is a great guy and a great teacher, he jsut wasnt careful enough. so anyways i originnaly planned on getting my quad put all back together by the end of next week but now it will probabley take alot longer....
does anyone have any ideas?
and would i be able to get a good view from the oil drain i didnt look yet.
ANY IDEAS ARE EXTREMELY APPRECIATED!!HELP ME!!!

It's great that you were able to take care of the problem without spliting the case. However the in your face comment was unnessiery. These guy's were only trying to help. Your reply will only lead to when you need help in other way's no responce. Not trying to be critical just an observation.

i had a close 1 on tuesday, we were pulling the reeds out of my banshee to port them and my buddy dropped a screw in the case. boy he felt bad!!! he went 2-3 places looking for the telescope magnets tools. everybody just sold their last one. i got lucky and used a magnet off my wife's dillard's name badge she's had laying around for 6 years and got it out. he felt so..... bad , i didnt care to much. i bought the shee in pieces for $500 and they said they blew it up and rebuit it with a diffrent crank, im not sure if it was hot rod or oem. i thought i was going to find out the other day. i guess i'll have to wait for a top end job. im sure i'll be using the old rag trick from now on!!!!
