Default Help!

I'm just looking to get started with ATVs and have very little $$ available. A friend of mine has an old Suzuki that he would like to sell me. It ran great up until last summer when someone rode it hard and then it wouldn't start. I believe it is a late 80's, but I can't find a model number. Can someone help me identify the model using the VIN? Also, I've worked on cars a fair bit, but how difficult will it be to fix this thing up and get it running? Are they hard to work on? Also, how expensive are parts? He wants $450 for it, which seems a bit high to me, although the body is in good shape.

Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

J,
There are plenty of quads out there that are running and affordable on eBay! You are not going to be happy with a quad that has to be worked on just to get on the trailer. Even if you have to drive a little to get one I would hold out for one that was running. $450 seems a little steep for a late 80's model that isn't running. Surf the web and Good Luck!
