There all pretty good pipes-it's whatever one you like best. I don't know what price you got but I got my full Yoshi pipe for around $400. If you wanna save some money with the airbox lid off and still protect your filter you can get an outerwear cover that goes over your airbox that allows air in and keeps mud, water, and dust out. It velcros to the side of the box. It runs about $15-$20 at albaaction.com

personal opinion, you cant go wrong with an E-Series. Great sound, Great performance. I've got one on my Warrior, and the QuadSport could use something soon I'm hoping I can find an E-Series for it or for some quad with about the same cc's, I just hope it doesn't sound tinny with only 230 cc's. With the Warrior's 350, it sounds throaty and powerful. Shouldn't be a problem for 398 cc's of Z motor

Default white bros exhaust???? for z400

I have had good luck with them. I had one on a ex400 which was pretty fast on the dunes and I have one on a z400 with 18 disc and a snub or not cap on it so I can open it up and run straight through. A friend has a ex400 with a HMF with the end out , straight through , rejetted 160 main, lid off and K&N and I was running the same bike lid on with a K&N rejetted to 152 main, 12 disc Series E, and a rev box that gave a 1000 more with the limiter at 10,300. Plus I went on bigger on the back spocket that gave me I think a 41 tooth. I didnt have as much low end torque but if I used the rpm I could beat the pants off of him. That was on the beach in a drag race from 0 to top end and I was even faster top end. We run hard , 40 - 50 around the dunes too. Since then he put a rev box on his and I have a Z400 which was a big dissapointment to me. He walked all over me bad, but I got to running even with bascally the same setup only I went to the stage 2 hot cams. So we were even as of that. SO I went and pulled the exhaust header and ground the inside weld out flush and polished it plus did some work on the K&N adapter and now I can pull right away from him in a drag race and leave him behind on top end. I forgot to mentiion he dropped a tooth on the front spocket as I did on the z400 but for me with all that power I had to go back to the stock spocket to make it faster and more drivable . I could not use 1st gear when I was geared that low. I like the z400 with the stock gearing. As for having both bikes and swithing off , I would say stay with a honda 400ex, even though they rate the seat height the same I sit up higher on mine. The ex 400 handles better on the dunes and trails. We are even running the same sand tires. It rides smoother than the z 400. Now he is putting a cam in his so if he can beat me now, the honda ex400 is better for sure. If I had to do it over I would go with the honda. Dont get me wrong ,I like my z 400 but it is more work to drive it hard and it wheelies really easy which I really had to get use to when I first got it. I could not ride it like I did the honda. One very important thing to take into concideration is the maintaince and if you do your own. In the honda to reject there is a cap on the bottom of the float bowel that screws off. Quick and fast jet change. Z400 you have to pull the carb off to do it. Setting the valve clearance on the honda ex 400 you just pull the caps off and loosen the jam nuts and you are done. The Z400 to set the valves you have to pull both cams completely out of the motor and go get new shims from the dealer that sit under the buckets. Alot of work and after you have it all back together and check it and one if off yet , you have to take it all apart and pull the cams again. another good point for the honda is , you can change a spark plug really easy. On the z400 you have to take it apart and remove the gas tank to get to it. Kind of a pain. I hope I never foul a plug way out in the dunes with the Z400. SO as your question, the series E white bros has been a very good system for me and leaving money for other mods. The main thing is you just need to get the right setup. When you hit it the quad will come alive and just purr. That is about where I am right now, but it still doesnt handle and ride as smooth as the honda I had. I have switched off with my buddy which has 2 of them just to make sure. He agrees his hondas ride and handle better and really run as good probably with the new cam now. Water cooling is nice but unless you are in the hot desert , I dont think it makes much differance. Happy ridding. Ride hard but be aware.
