Default King Quad Body Panels

Anyone have any suggestions on the mounting of the body plastic pieces? 06 KQ is only a few weeks old, and the panels that are held by those rubber gromments to the racks, are already slippling thru the hole. Same with the body panels along the engine. Bout the only part of the KQ I dont like so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to teh forum.
I don't quite understand you question. Are the plastic rivets gone? Are the plastics pushed down away from the grommets where the racks come through?
Thanks
David

You know the rubber gromments that hold the body panels to the racks on the front and the rear body panels? About an inch in diameter. Those darn things are worth a squat. Trying to see if anyone has come up with a better system of keeping the panels connected to the racks.

Nuts and bolts and washers work better. The only thing is, they put them stupid plastic clips in becuase they give when you have an accident. less chance of breaking plastic.

Yeah. Was at Home Depot last nite looking at some of their plastic screws and that. For the parts that mount to the rack, I think I got that handled now. I was looking for those plugs that are rubber on both ends, with a screw and a nut, but when you tighten it down it compresses the rubber to hold the plastic in place alittle better. If you touch the plastic panels at the rack supports, they were slipping thru. Found some really thin rubber washers, put those on, and it holds. If you hit the plastic, it does pop out just like its supposed to.

What caused them to fall through the first time. I have not heard of this before, unless there has been a wreck involved.

Thanks

Nope. No wreck. After washing the bike, noticed that the rear panels supported by the rear rack were loose. No cracks or anything on the panels. Im sure I could take it back to the dealer since its pretty new yet and still within the warranty. Just didnt feel like waiting on them is all.

I would take it back and have them see what is going on. Something does not sound right. While it is under warranty I would make them do whatever possible. You should not have to be without you King, just have them order anything that is needed and go back when they get the parts in for you.

Thanks
David
