Default Z400 Vs. R450

Hey guys, just wondering how these compare. Anybody that owns one of these please give me your input on the quads. Is the R450 really worth the extra money? Hell I was looking at Harley-Davidsons and you can buy a nice Sportster for that amount of money and its road legal!

Well, they're totally different. I rode somebody's ltr, for the riding we do I prefer the Z. The ltr handled awesome on the wide open. It had good smooth power, but was lacking on the bottom end. At the end of the day, he said he wished he kept his kfx.
But the riding we do most of the time, we're on narrow trails. A lot of the time reverse comes in real handy. I would prefer my Z over a YFZ on the trails we ride too. If your gonna be on wide trails and tracks most of the time, the ltr would be the quad to get. I can't even describe how buttery smooth and spot on the handling is on the fire road that I rode it on, but on the rocky, narrow, technical trails I definetely prefer my Z.

i totaly agree with Sparky8370, for tight trails the z is alot better,r450 is a mx bike not for woods.

I have them both, for flying around I love my LTR BUT if I want to thrash around, play ride I find the KFX and the Z ALOT more fun to ride. So much so that when I ride with my wife (KFX) I take my sons (Z) and have a blast.

Now I'm not saying the Z is slow either it's not, I can ride that one just as fast as my LTR everywhere except in the whoops. haha

Both are AWESOME machines and I would be happy on either one if I could only have 1.

well everybody pretty much summed it up it all depends on the rider, and what type of riding you do... the LTR-450 was developed to be race ready. all you need is a kill switch, nurf bars, and cherry bomb, take out the spark arrester and the air box lid and you can drop in on the track. i am in the process for setting mine up for sand draging. rite now yfz's, 450r's, and LTZ's, with pipe, jet kit, air filter, cam mods. at best beat me in 100 yard drag with a good drivers one-two links and mine is stock. now thats not any motor work or bore kits. but some are running race gas and alchy. if you are a trail rider needing rewind, i would go LTZ-400 if you are ***** to the walls, racing on a track.........LTR-450. i go trail riding on a brute force 750 its got fenders to keep ya clean and a rack to strap ya beer on ..........
