An auto vinson is a lot slower throughout the power band than the manual. You lose efficiency in the belt system. The only reason I could see to get the auto is if you dont like shifting. The manual is pretty quick. Put a pipe, filter. and jet kit on the manual and the popo boys will be furnishing the cool snacks.

My o4 vinson will chew up and spit out a sportsman 500 any time of day. I have a buddy with one and there is not the slightest comparison. Of course mine is a 5 speed with the normal mods, pipe, jet kit, filter. The manual is quite a bit faster than the auto and I have seen 68 mph before. The manual shift just seems to be alot stouter running.

If your so concerned whether or not a vinson can beat another quad, then just buy the other quad, at least youd be tied or close. Or better yet get a bigger quad, KQ, BF or bigger Polaris.
Dont determine what quad to get over which one is faster top end than another. Look at this way, you might have to buy beer from time to time, but youll most likely save a lot on repairs and parts in the future. Ive got a vinson and KQ and I win and loose drags on both. But they are ute's, I dont care if I loose, in the woods trails and muck its pretty much even. I didnt buy them based on winning a top speed race, i would have bought a racer if I wanted that! And when I loose I dont plan on going and getting something faster. soon as you get a quad faster than theres on a stretch theyll just go get a faster quad, then this viscious cycle will start all over, I see alot of peopl play these games.

So I wonder if a manual Vinson can accelerate faster than a Kingquad because of this lost power of the belt system of the CVT in the KingQuad? Anyone ever raced these two quads?
