Default 03 Z400 Help

OK I'm new to his game so bare with me. I've had my Z400 since I bought in 03, everything is stock ( not a lot of time to ride). It's been sitting for about 9 months and I finally started it. Well tried, I finally started and it idled rough and had problems reving. I took the carb off and cleaned all the jets and blew them out. Helped a little. I've ran the trouble shooting section in the suzuki servicing manual. Nothing same thing. I need some help guys and tips, tricks, and ideas would be nice. At idle it sounds like its bogging down and then misses untill I get to about half throttle and then runs fine a guess.

I changed the gas and replaced the plug and there wasn't anything in the airbox. It idles rough and when I hit the throttle it revs nice and then a second time it just dies. Maybe I should check the carb again. Thanks for the input.

check the carb and the fuel tank petcock, after gas sits for more then 1 month it starts to tarnish and goes bad. the 03 had troubles with the petcock anyway, remove it, take it apart and clean it too, you need to take the carb completely apart and get the tarnish out of it

I cleaned everything at least what I thought was clean. The jets looked dull to me, is that ok? I took carb cleaner in the spray can and sprayed them and then used a compressor to blew them out. I looked in the tank and took the peckcock out, it looked cleaned. It idles fine now and then dies like two minutes later. Any other ideas. Thanks for the help so far.

Did you remove and clean the choke slide? If open at all you are allowing exta fuel in the mix that you do not need in hot weather.

Where would the choke slide be. I took the choke out of remove the carb is that what you're talking about? The choke lever on the handle bars moves about an inch and the engine revs up with it down. It revs up for about a minute or so then idles slow/normal then dies if I touch the throttle. You guys think I screwed something up like the float height maybe.
