another Noob Vinson question
#1
Im planning on buying my first ATV ( tired of riding everyone elses) and Im looking for an ATV that will be 60% trail/ 40% hunting vehicle and utillity .
Im torn between the Vinson 500 and the Yamahopper 450 4x4.
Its got to be able to work, but the PLAY part is just as important.
While at the dealership today, the salesman told me the the Vinson 500 auto WILL wheelie......which caused another customer to laugh.
Since the only auto Ive riden is a Polaris 600 that shifts at WAY too low of an rpm...im afraid of the Vinson auto.
Can you get the front wheels off the ground on the Vinson Auto?
Would I be bettter off with the 5 speed?
Also, any thoughts on the yamaha 450 4x4 as compared to the vinson?
thx!

Either of those bikes would be fine I think You should take each for a little spin and see which feels more comfortable. I have a Vinson auto and my father recently got a Kodiak 450. I was going to get a manual but decided at the last second to go auto, I like it works fine tons of power and speed for my needs. I'm not one who gets excited about wheelies but yes with a bit of body english or a little bump on the road you can get the wheels up pretty high in Low range and Hi range. The Kodiak feels smaller overall than the Vinson which measures closer in physical size to the Grizzly. I haven't really driven the Kodiak to give a good comparison. perhaps I'll post some comparitive pic's if I get time.
