Sprocket question on Z400
What is the stock front and rear sprocket on a 06 Z400? Also can I go down a tooth in the front and up a tooth in the rear and still use the stock chain? Or maybe down 2 in the front and up one in the rear? I want to get alittle lower gear ratio for more woods riding that stock. I don't want to change the chain if I can help it. It only has about 5 hours on it so far.
Thanks

the rear is more for fine tuning, when im running the dunes I go to a 13/39 or 13/40 depending on how much torque you want

Sprocket question on Z400
I have a 2004 Kawasaki KFX400 and I changed to a 12 tooth on the front and a 44 tooth on the rear. The original was 14 on the front and 40 on the rear. I really like this change since I ride both mountain roads and trails and sand dunes. In the dunes I use paddle tires. Oh Yea, I know most of you think I am nuts for going so low, but for me I love it. Sure I lost top end speed but I am not a speed nut. I want to be able to really gear down in 1st for rough trail riding.
I works perfect in the dunes since I mainly use 3rd, with very little 2nd, and some 4th. I essentially never use 1st in the dunes.
Oh, I did have to put a longer chain on, and space down my rear rock guard a small amount.
My wife is going to get a yellow LTZ 400 and I will put 12 on the front and 44 on the rear of it.
