Like the title says, im going with the z400 and i want to know what your areas prices are or if im getting shafted. For an 2006 White Z400 its $5,450 OTD Tag says $4,699 + tax 282 + (Freight + DOC/Title=489)

I have a 2002 near mint Kawasaki Mojave it only has light scratches from trails and has never been flipped or tipped. They said $1,800 last year and $1,500 this year. I just dont have a title for it yet, which they need so i have to go do a court thing in the morning. The state i bought it from didnt require them. so i have to pay taxes on this too. I have not bargined at all. Id also consider trading a stock lt250r in great shap but i dont know what its worth or what i would get trade-in.

How much do you think i can play with / work down/ add in?

I want to get full skid plates and shock covers and two helmates. They do have a 10% obove cost sale on the day you buy a bike. $273 full DG Fat series Skids Swing/A's/Chas.

Let me know Thanks Jordan

I'd check around a little. Usually there are places that won't stiff you for DOC fees. Also, the 07's are coming. That being said, I paid $5,500 OTD three years ago for my 03 Z400. Sell the Mojave yourself, you should get more for it assuming you're not in a smaller rural area. Then check out places like Rocky Mountain ATV on the internet for your skids & other aftermarket stuff to compare. $273 might not be bad for the skids etc. but typically dealer aftermarket parts are usually a lot more expensive, even with a 10% discount. Good luck!

Stickers on the 06 models down here (Texas) are 5799. Of course they add the fees, so it just goes up. Couldn't get a firm price from the closest Suzuki dealer (6500, but never gave total including tax), so went to the Kawi dealer and got an 06 for 5800 OTD. Have seen a lot of 05 that they are trying to clear out as low as 4600. Of course, they'll add those fees back in, but if you're willing to tell them a price, and stick to it, you can probably get it.

The day I took mine home, I stopped by the Zuk dealer to show the salesman the invoice.

Forgot about the plates. Check ebay. Got a set of nerfs for mine for under 65 bucks. Missed out on a full belly racing skid for 65 (forgot to go back and bid)

never take first pencil- especially this time of year. keep in mind that they want to sell you that thing more than you want to buy it...

The Kawasaka Dealer in Coeurd'Alene, Idaho is having a sell this weekend on three orange 2006 KFX 400's. $4995 plus tax. Nothing was said about freight.

They try to add freight (325 or 375) and assembly (bout the same). And it will show up on your invoice. They took the base price down, and then added those two, plus inventory tax and other stuff and brought it up to 5800.

Just be sure they understand you want OTD price.

One place wasn't too amused when they said something about the freight and assembly, and I said, "Call Japan, leave one in the box, and I'll pick it up Tuesday."

They wernt to happy with me either when i told them for $400 i would put it together myself and have it shipped to my door if i was paying for shipping. They brought something up about they have to inspect it and junk for safty and warr. Said id bring it by.

I'm going to two other dealers today, one said he doesnt have freight fees and junk and was really nice over the phone so we will see. if i can save just $25 it more than noting. Ill ask the dealer, can you settle for chicken for dinner insted of steak?

The dealer i was first dealing with has a kfx400 for 100 less in green, i was looking at blue but think green is nice too. What qould you all do? I just was thiking about the look after wear and the fact that this is the last year for kaws 400.

Mine had green and orange for the same price. The orange was still in the crate, so that's the one I went with. Plus, orange just seemed a little different.

One thing I noticed about the white z's, the frame by foot guards is blue, and have seen where it has worn off on older ones. Not that big of a deal, but just didn't like it. Had one dealer that would throw in some frame guards. But that was on 05, and was only asking 200 less than the 06 Kawi.

Nice thing about these is you can always change the plastic to green, white, yellow, orange, black and whatever aftermarket stuff is out there.
