well i finely got a pipe for my z400 . so now I've got in the carb a 160 main
(may have to go bigger) a needle no lid on the air box a uni filter a full yosh pipe .and a rev box , this thing rips.
put it on a dyno to day and found out that its putting out 30 hp.my buddy's 450r is getting 36hp, but now he's doing some more mods so i expect he'll be over 40 hp real soon.

a stock Z runs around 26/28 hp at the wheels depending on where you live and how its dynoed. get a set of cams for it and have it ported and I bet you will be somewhere around 36hp. when I did my 440 kit I had around 44hp with it only ported with cams and full exhaust. someday i'll get my 470 kit dynoed if I ever get the time to do it

 

well i dont no about that . i have the chart in front of me and it does not confirm what your saying . but what i will do is call the dyno operator and ask what he's been finding.
it is way better than it was when it was stock.and i dont race,just ride trails and some sand.
my riding buddy has a 450r many mods . lets just say I'm trying to keep up with him. the same dyno said that he was at 36hp, i think he's way over that.

 

talked to the operater today . he said that on his dyno a stock z400 only had 24hp at the rear wheel.

 

the stock Z doesnt have lots of HP, so for what you did to you bike made a nice improvement in HP.get yourself a new CDI for it and you'll gain a little more power and gain 1000 rpm. Agood CDI will run around $250 and up

 

The z400 stock is 36.6 hp. I had just bought the 06 and on the blue papers it says 36.6 hp.
