i bought a 1987 suzuki 230 quadsport recently. It has a grinding sound when the motor it running. my dad thinks it is the crank bearings. what else could it be???

I picked one up a few months ago and had a similar problem, ended up being the previuos owner ran it low on oil and it wiped out the cam and head.
