Default EFI has Choke?

What is the deal? I was looking at the new kingquad 450 EFI and funny thing was it has a choke ....right? Anybody like to confirm this...

I would like to know if this is a rummy EFI setup....seems to me, you shouldn't have to worry about choking a EFI quad to start it....my 2 cents

nope...the salesmen....did a doubletake too.......they call it a "fuel enricher"...LOL....it looks like any choke i've ever seen

I am not sure...but it could be a good thing....it may be setup to compensate for airbox mods and pipes without a new ECU module program...it somehow allows for the choke setup

'Fuel enricher' on an EFI engine sounds STUPID. I think I'll just go kill myself now that I've heard it all.

it might be to adjust jetting and you never have to reprogram the efi

but i thought efi didnt need to be reporgrammed after you put on a pipe or modify the airbox and stuff, what the point of efi if you have to reprogram it, that would be more annoying than having to rejet.

To my knowledge....EFI computers must be upgraded with other engine mods

I know EFI is great if you ride up and down the rocky mountain chain, but what about automatically compensating for start-up?

EFI automatically compensates for EVERYTHING. Ever heard of a car/truck that's fuel injected that needs any manual adjustment??? Do you think that your 1992 Chevy K2500 needs some sort of 'computer adjustment' when you put on a K&N or 3" exhaust with headers? EFI has compensation for intake volume via a hot-wire MAFM or a MAP sensor. Exhaust gasses are monitored via O2 sensors (one or mulitiple), fuel volume is calculated with injector pulse timing and length. Engine position and ignition timing are sensed with a crank position sensor. It's all covered. Temperature too. ALL temperatures. There's absolutely NO reason a REAL EFI system should need outside interference. It could be closed-loop or open-loop depending on conditions, but all adjustments should be ECU controlled.

Suzuki makes really good EFI systems for their Sidekicks and cars, no reason quads shouldn't be the same.
