Twin Peaks 700 oil change
I just bought a Twin Peaks 700 today and the oil level is low so I want to change it. I have searched these forums and NYROC on Twin Peaks and Prairie 700 for what oil to use and have seen many say 0-40, 5-40, 10-40, but I am sure it is not regular car oil.
What oil is reccomended? Also where/what oil filter do you use? NAPA Gold?

I have bought and liked Amsoil in the past looking at thier site looks like these should work. Any comments?
Amsoil 0W-40 Synthetic Motor Oil
And these two filters, not sure what the difference is, maybe one is longer.

Looks good to me, looking around, I recommend Amsoil. The temp. you will be riding in should dictate what kind you put in. This should help, but keep in mind that it is referring to cars not four-wheelers.
-SAE 5W-30
Climate Conditions: Performs well in sub-zero temperatures
A relatively thin motor oil that provides excellent fuel economy and low temperature performance. Used primarily in newer model automobiles. Recommended for new vehicles.
-SAE 10W-30
Climate Conditions: Performs well in temperatures above zero degrees F
A slightly thicker version of 5W-30 motor oil. Frequently recommended for most automobile engines, including high-performance multi-valve and turbo-charged engines.
-SAE 10W-40
Climate Conditions: Performs well in temperatures above zero degrees F
A thicker oil that provides excellent viscosity. Works well for controlling engine wear and preventing oil breakdown from oxidation. This heavier weight oil performs better in hotter climates. Typically recommended in vehicles and trucks with larger engines. Possibly a little too thick for wintertime in some cold climates.
-SAE 20W-50
Climate Conditions: Performs well in temperatures above 20 degrees F
Maximum protection for high-performance, high-RPM engines because of its high viscosity. An excellent oil for hot climates and towing at high speeds for long periods of time.

Amsoil is a great choice, thats what i use also. The filters are exactly the same, except one is chrome. Thats what the "C" stands for. Dont waste your money unless your into the looks of you oil filter 0-40 is a perfect oil, its good in all temperatures.

Thanks. Wich Amsoil product do you actually use? Do you use the one for ATV's? From my understanding since there are no clutches or gears in the Prairie/Twin Peaks 700 you can use any oil. Right now I have Mobil1 5W-30 in it, but will probably go to Amsoil. I noticed big difference in my Jeep and had a few that bought from me and also noticed thier engine to run much smoother.
